Jill Eisnaugle's Story to be Featured in Forthcoming Chicken Soup for the Soul Collection

The story of Jill Eisnaugle's encounter with Hurricane Ike, entitled "Humor + Faith = Recovery," has been selected for publication in the forthcoming Chicken Soup for the Soul: Tough Times, Tough People collection.

Texas City, Texas (PRWEB) May 6, 2009 -- Award-winning poet and author, Jill Eisnaugle, has been selected for publication in the Chicken Soup for the Soul: Tough Times, Tough People collection, this June. Jill's story, Humor + Faith = Recovery describes her family's trying year of illness and loss, the destruction that Hurricane Ike left in its wake, and how faith and strength guided her heart through the tough times.

"Imagine coming home to find a six foot debris pile -- comprised of what had been your beautiful wood-paneled living room -- blocking the access into your home," said Eisnaugle. "Then, envision an eight foot long steel beam trapping your water-logged and destroyed furniture. If those images were not enough, picture an eighteen by twenty-four foot hole in your roof and a five foot by four foot by three foot piece of brick chimney leaned against your fireplace. Could you find enough strength to overcome the dilemma?"

Jill Eisnaugle experienced all of these things --- in a neighborhood otherwise untouched by the wrath of Hurricane Ike --- and found the stamina to keep going. She now shares her story with the world, courtesy of Chicken Soup for the Soul.

The Chicken Soup for the Soul: Tough Times, Tough People collection is comprised of stories that remind us that anyone can overcome a difficult situation. The book consists of 101 stories about overcoming adversity, making do with less, conquering challenges, or merely enjoying a simpler life. Jill Eisnaugle's story, Humor + Faith = Recovery, was written to show the reader that situations are only as difficult as we choose to view them. Whether relying on a strong support base of friends and family or on our individual morals and convictions, any obstacle can be defeated and any hardship can be overcome. As Jill learned, if we vow to take life one day at a time and do only what we can achieve in that moment, we will ultimately reach whatever goal we choose --- whether the goal is something as simple as sweeping aside stray pine needles or as complex as resting safely beneath re-built roof beams. To quote the authors of Chicken Soup for the Soul: Tough Times Tough People, "Tough Times Won't Last, but Tough People Will."

Chicken Soup for the Soul: Tough Times, Tough People is now available for pre-release purchase at http://www.chickensoup.com/cs.asp?cid=comingsoon and various other online retailers. The book will be released worldwide on Tuesday, June 16, 2009. For more information about Jill Eisnaugle or for interview requests, please contact the author at (409) 945-2179 or (409) 370-0292.
