University Canada West Welcomes the World with $1 Million in Scholarships
More than 500 scholarships available to 2010 high school grads around the world.
Vancouver, BC (Vocus/PRWEB ) November 5, 2009 –- When $1 million is up for grabs, the competition is sure to be steep. High school students from around the world are invited to submit their application to receive up to $25,000 in scholarship money towards tuition at University Canada West (UCAN).
“UCAN offers students a very unique university experience and our cultural diversity makes for a dynamic learning environment unlike any other,” says Larry Heinzlmeir, VP of Admissions at University Canada West. “This initiative is a great opportunity to reach deserving students around the world who may not be able to afford to pursue a post secondary education.”
More than 500 scholarships will be made available to 2010 graduates. Students must be nominated by a high school counselor, principal or teacher and must either be in the top 50% of their graduating class or have a combined CGPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale at the end of their junior year. Applicants will also be required to write a 350-500 word essay on the value of learning in a multicultural environment like University Canada West.
