Capella University is Selected as One of the Top 20 Military Friendly
Colleges and Universities
For the second year, Military Advanced Education recognizes the
online university
MINNEAPOLIS (Business Wire EON/PRWEB ) December 8, 2008 --
Capella
University (www.capella.edu),
an accredited* online
university that has built its reputation by providing
quality graduate education for adults, has been named one of the top 20
military friendly institutions by Military Advanced Education magazine.
This is the second consecutive year the online university has been
awarded this honor. As of October 31, 2008, approximately 16 percent of
the online university’s students are affiliated with the military; this
percentage of learners includes servicemembers, their immediate family
members, and veterans.
Capella was selected as a top military friendly institution based on its
military enrollments, student feedback, degree programs, and military
friendly policies. Capella currently serves more than 24,000 students
from all 50 states and 56 countries. Nearly 85 percent of Capella’s
students are seeking master’s or PhD degrees online.
“Capella University is military friendly because of the support we
provide to service members, veterans, and their families,” said Nicole
Lovald, armed forces and veterans support supervisor for Capella, and
the spouse of a service member herself. “We offer military discounts,
provide scholarships, and have a trained team of support specialists.”
Please visit Capella’s U.S.
Armed Forces webpage for more information about these
benefits.
Combining its recognition as a leading educator of mental health
professionals and military service members, Capella University recently
launched a public service campaign about military mental health. Share
