Christa Campbell Changes Faces Yet Again for Upcoming Children's Movie, 'Cool Dog'
Horror film queen and recent action film star, Christa Campbell, changes faces yet again for what may be one of 2009's top children's movies, 'Cool Dog.' 'Cool Dog,' a remake of 1954's Adventures of Rin Tin Tin, stars Campbell as Laura Warner, the mother of main character, Jimmy Warner.
(PRWEB) June 1, 2009 -- Christa Campbell continues to expand her film repertoire as she changes faces yet again for what may be one of 2009's top children's movies. The horror film queen and recent action star (appearing in 'Lies & Illusions' with Christian Slater and Cuba Gooding Jr.), will appear in ' Cool Dog,' a remake of the 1954 movie 'The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin'. Campbell will play Laura Warner, the mother of main character Jimmy Warner, opposite Jackson Pace, and part owner of the "cool dog" after which the movie is named.

Those who remember 'The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin' may be slightly familiar with the plot, though the new movie puts a modern twist on the timeless story. Currently in production, the movie tells the story of a boy and his German Shepherd dog, and touches the hearts of pet lovers young and old.
Written by Danny Lerner and Les Weldon and directed by Lerner, 'Cool Dog' is further evidence of Campbell's diversity, and something that Campbell is glad to be a part of.
"This year continues to be an exciting one for me as I've been able to work on a number of projects outside of my usual repertoire," says Campbell. From the horror genre to 'Finding Bliss,' 'Lies & Illusions' and now to a children's film, it's been a lot of fun."
Best known for her work in films like 'The Wickerman' (2006), 'Day of the Dead' (2008), and 'Blood: A Butcher's Tale' (2009), Campbell made her film debut in '2001 Maniacs,' released in 2005. Since then, Campbell has been branching out beyond the horror genre into action, comedy, and now, children's movies.
"I'm not abandoning the horror genre," says Campbell. "I just want to demonstrate my versatility by working on a variety of projects in a lot of different genres. This year has been a success as far as that goal is concerned, and I hope to continue that success in years to come."
