Web 3.0 Gets a Front Row Seat to Your Favorite Concert
preAmped is aimed at localizing the music community by providing what is most important to concert fans.
Orlando, FL (PRWEB) June 15, 2009 -- The time has passed when a website can indiscriminately grab anything with the same phrase and display it on a single page. Users can see it in search engines with Cuil.com and now available in concert with preAmped.com. preAmped is an emerging company aimed at localizing the music community by providing a data service and website for concert fans which is categorized down to the city block.
preAmped.com has a clean interface designed by Blacklight New Media to find specific artists, venues, cities, concerts and fans. Local content is displayed when browsing within a city which keeps the focus while traditional artist pages are offset with interactive maps of the tour, streaming music, photos, and fans. Concert pages are not just a place to buy tickets anymore; they are a small yearbook of events leading up to the concert and continue to capture the show from an audience point of view.
"It is no longer acceptable to organize everything in single bucket. I want to hear about the show I attended and find myself in pictures from the gallery." -- Ryan McKenzie, preAmped CEO and co-founder
As the ticket industry becomes more decentralized, fans have lost their single point of reference. preAmped has developed a system to bring together concert listings from dozens of sources and has dedicated a majority of its efforts on the quality of data. When an artist is pulled in from an event feed, it is cross referenced to Apple, Billboard, Amazon, and mySpace to name a few. Venues are geocoded and validated against USPS and CD titles are compared between systems. This sophisticated process allows the information to be categorized correctly and presented accordingly. "Unless you know what you have, it's all garbage." -- Ryan McKenzie, preAmped CEO
preAmped coined the term 'Never Rock Alone' as a sort of motto for the company. This references the community of concert fans but does not stop there. The company is reaching out to others in the industry to share information which will continue to grow the local music scene, inspire artists, and fuel the passion and creativity of the fans. The preAmped beta website is online now and a full range of API services are schedule to be completed by Summer 2009. The API services will expose all data to remove the time and complexity of developing new websites, mash-ups, widgets, and mobile applications.
