Dr. Tim Dosemagen Named Provost of Collins College
TEMPE, Ariz. (Business Wire EON/PRWEB ) January 16, 2008 --
Today Collins College announced that Tim Dosemagen, Ed.D. is named
provost of the school effective immediately. Collins College, a school
of design and technology, is located in Tempe with a branch campus in
Phoenix.
As provost, Dosemagen is responsible for maintaining innovative
educational programs and the academic integrity of the institution.
Dosemagen will oversee research, development and implementation of new
programs as well as academic oversight to ensure the curriculum remains
industry-relevant and in line with emerging trends. Other
responsibilities include supervising education compliance with
regulatory agencies and managing the academic budget.
“Dr. Dosemagen has extensive scholastic
experience, which I am certain will provide Collins College the
essentials to continue offering academic excellence,”
said Joshua Padron, president of Collins College.
Dosemagen’s most recent position was director
of academic affairs for The University of Phoenix. Dosemagen also served
on the faculty of Western International University in Phoenix.
In addition to academic positions, Dosemagen has extensive experience
working for social service agencies. Previous jobs include executive
director of ABC Child Development, Inc., a California agency that
promotes Project Head Start outreach to immigrant communities in eastern
Los Angeles County; International director of operations for La Leche
League; director of marketing and funding for the American IEF Education
Foundation, where he traveled extensively throughout East Asia to
promote U.S. educational opportunities; and different positions for the
Boy Scouts of America.
Dosemagen served in the United States Air Force for seven years as a
cryptologic analyst studying military and industrial entities of the
Peoples Republic of China. He speaks and has taught Mandarin Chinese.
Dosemagen has a B.A. in East Asian Studies from the University of
Maryland, an M.S. in Human Services from Murray State University in
Kentucky and a Ph.D. in Education from Nova Southeastern University in
Florida.
