RSA Corp Enables Rapid Procurement of IT Project Services through DIR

Houston-based business technology firm was approved by Texas Department of Information Resources to provide deliverables-based IT services to state agencies and government-funded organizations. As a DIR-contracted vendor, RSA Corp offers technology migration and upgrades, application development, technology assessments and strategic planning services.

Houston, TX (PRWEB) February 26, 2009 -- RSA Corp, a Houston-based business technology services and IT staffing firm, was awarded a contract by the Texas Department of Information Resources to offer deliverables-based IT services to state agencies, cities, counties, school districts, universities and non-profit organizations. Through the contract, RSA Corp is pre-approved by DIR to provide technology migration and upgrades, application development, IT assessments and strategic planning services.

The basis of DIR Deliverables-Based Information Technology Services (DBITS) contracting is to pre-qualify vendors for specific professional services. Contracts are awarded based on client references and project experience completed over the past three years, in each of the categorized service offerings.

"We've demonstrated success helping local cities and counties improve efficiencies through process reengineering and infrastructure optimization," said George Black, president and CEO at RSA Corp. "Now, more government-funded organizations can procure these types of business technology services from RSA Corp without the hassle of an RFP."

In 2008, the City of League City took steps to overhaul its permitting process. The process was referred to by residents and developers as lengthy, cumbersome and confusing because of the lack of technology and inability to collaborate information easily between departments.

To find cost-effective opportunities for improvement, RSA Corp worked with the City to document and analyze the old process and investigate areas of inconsistency. RSA Corp then made recommendations and assisted in re-engineering a more streamlined solution.

"Making it easier for cities and schools to leverage business technology to drive operational improvements and boost efficiencies will help them deliver better services with less expense in the long run," said Stephen Sweeney, chief operating officer at RSA Corp. "This is critical in the current economy."

DIR hosts the Go DIRect program, which allows customers to shorten the procurement process for specific IT services by bypassing the normal RFP process and contacting vendors directly for services and pricing information. Customers work directly with pre-qualified vendors to establish a Statement of Work that meets their needs and timetables. Contract terms and conditions are pre-set through DIR. When customers are ready to purchase, they return the signed Statement of Work along with a Purchase Order, and RSA Corp handles the rest.
