Customer Demand for Green House Data's 100 Percent Green Data Center Services Leads to New Office in Denver

Founder and CEO of Wyoming-based green data center heads new office to support growing roster of customers and expand business in Denver-metro area

Cheyenne, Wyo. (PRWEB) November 3, 2009 -- Green House Data, a 100-percent green data center and colocation facility serving national clients, today announced it has expanded its operations with the opening of an office in downtown Denver. The company currently operates a 10,000 square foot state-of-the-art colocation and managed hosting services facility in Cheyenne, Wyo. and is expanding to meet Front Range businesses' growing demand for lower cost, better service and green data center needs.

In addition to its location and employees in Cheyenne, Green House Data has added Denver-based staff, including the company's CEO Shawn Mills, now working from its downtown Denver office. Green House Data Center's operation delivers the Front Range's only colocation facility that offers a zero carbon footprint that is approximately 10 percent more cost-efficient than other colocation providers.

Green House Data's expansion could not be timelier as an increasing number of companies in the region are advancing their green initiatives and looking to find a more eco-friendly hosting and colocation environment. With 100 percent of its power produced by renewable wind energy backed up by the traditional power grid, Green House Data's 10,000 sq. ft. Wyoming facility operates roughly 60 percent more efficiently than traditional colocation providers of similar size. As Denver businesses look to go green, they've been discovering the best of both worlds with Green House Data in its zero carbon footprint and its close proximity to Denver.

Other considerations are driving interest north as well. For example, Green House Data is seeing an uptick in businesses with compliance requirements which stipulate the distance between an enterprise office location and its back-up data center. Green House Data's Cheyenne data center provides the desired proximity while adhering to distance rules. A remote, yet, near-by location, like Cheyenne, also bypasses risks associated with a densely populated, highly vulnerable metro region, giving clients a safer facility in which to store sensitive data.

"A growing number of companies we talk with in Denver want more features, customer service and flexibility from their provider, all for less money," explained Mills, Green House Data's chief executive . "Because of the energy efficiency of our green data center, our robust connectivity, and the cost savings that Cheyenne affords us as a smaller town, we can offer all the desired benefits with a lower price tag to Denver companies."

Green Data Center already is working with several Denver-area organizations with a high reliance on mission-critical data storage and availability. For instance, Thought Equity Motion, Inc., headquartered in Denver, turned to Green House Data for a reliable green data center solution without the premium price tag. Thought Equity is the world's largest provider of online motion content and boasts the "deepest online footage library on earth."

VideoBloom, a leading online video advertising and distribution firm in Greenwood Village, Colorado, also selected Green House Data for its managed services expertise and one-on-one attention to planning VideoBloom's network architecture roadmap. VideoBloom's CEO Antoine Toffa pointed to Green House Data's "affordable service and reliability" as the deciding factors for choosing it as a provider. He added that an additional major benefit is that the company pays full attention to what he calls the "green factor," since it aligns with VideoBloom's green goal.

"The growth and opportunity for our type of offering among businesses on the Front Range is exciting," said Mills. "It's quite satisfying that we can offer them not only a better data center and managed services solution close by, but, also one that offers lower cost, better service and helps them reduce their carbon footprint."
