Influxis Introduces the First 3D Flash MMO Chat Environment
Flash Media Server specialist Influxis creates a new 3D chat application for the Adobe Flash Player.
Santa Clarita, CA (PRWEB) May 26, 2009 -- Influxis, the leading Flash Media Server specialist company, has built and released the first Flash 3D massively multiplayer online chat application for the Adobe Flash Media Server (FMS) using a framework combination of custom code, FMS, and the Away3D platform, a real-time 3D engine for Flash. The application is called Massiva 3D and introduces the never before seen possibility of having a 3D multi-user chat environment over the Adobe Flash Player plug-in, a media player already installed on 98% of computers in the world.
Influxis releases Massiva 3D, the first customizable 3D Flash MMO chat environment application.
While currently in beta release, Influxis designed the Massiva 3D application to allow for branding opportunities and customization of the 3D environment including custom avatars, buildings, objects, and weather. "Customers can create any kind of world they want - can be a beach scene, an alien world, or an online club," said Paul Blakely, Influxis VP of Marketing. "The application's possibilities are endless, and this is only the beginning. We hope that early adopter developers will be able to take this beta application and extend its capabilities even further. Our full release of the application will include even more game-like functionalities and options."
Early adopters of the Massiva 3D application have compared its functionality to a simplified version of Second Life, a virtual world developed by Linden Lab accessible through the Internet. However the key difference many developers and companies are excited about is the fact that Massiva 3D does not require the end user to download anything other than the Adobe Flash Player which nearly all computers in the world already have. This means the Massiva 3D application can be accessed directly from from any web browser such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc. and via any operating system whether PC or Mac.
"Our team of FMS developers are eager to use the latest technologies to try new things, and with Massiva 3D, we are crossing into a new untapped territory for our business by having a pre-built application for creating 3D chat environments," said Blakely. "We believe this kind of innovation along with our one-to-one developer support is what sets Influxis apart in the industry. Our customers trust us to have or develop the solutions necessary to make their wildest ideas for collaborative applications come to life."
