PASADENA, Calif. (Business Wire EON/PRWEB ) December 24, 2007 --
Rain Bird, the leading manufacturer and provider of irrigation products
and services, is giving Rose Parade®
fans a behind-the-scenes look at the making of its 2008 Rose Parade
float entry, Preservation Celebration, through The Making of A
Rose Parade Float web video series. The regular series, available on
Rain Bird’s YouTube page (http://www.youtube.com/rainbirdcorp),
will chronicle the seldom seen side of the Rose Parade by revealing the
personalities and activities that make Rose Parade Decorators’
Week an experience like none other.
“The parade itself is the culmination of all
the long days and nights spent by Rain Bird volunteers transforming a
barren structure into a work of art during the week leading up to parade
day,” said Rain Bird’s
Director of Corporate Marketing, Dave Johnson. “There
is so much that goes into the making of a Rose Parade float that the
public does not get to see, and this web video series aims to give Rose
Parade fans the opportunity to learn more about the float preparation
process and meet the people who make the New Year’s
Day parade a magnificent tradition each year.”
The exclusive video series will provide viewers with daily glimpses of
the behind-the-scenes action of Rose Parade float decorating as
thousands of volunteers feverishly race to finish each float in time for
the 119th Tournament of Roses Parade®
on January 1, 2008. Capturing all the excitement of Rose Parade
preparation – from the placing of the first
flowers to the start of the parade – the
week-long (December 27 – January 1, 2008)
series brings viewers up close and personal with the story behind the
world’s most spectacular parade and features
onsite interviews with float builders, volunteer decorators, float
drivers, designers, the 2008 Tournament of Roses Queen and Court as well
as animal enthusiast Jack Hanna, as he prepares to ride on Rain Bird’s
float for the 10th consecutive year.
About Rain Bird’s 2008 Tournament of Roses
Float Entry
Building on its heritage of bringing awareness to the importance of
water conservation and environmental preservation through its
participation in the Tournament of Roses Parade, Rain Bird will once
again pay tribute to the central role that water plays in sustaining all
of the Earth’s inhabitants with its 2008
float entry, Preservation Celebration. In accordance with the
2008 Rose Parade theme, Passport to the World's Celebrations, and
Rain Bird’s steadfast commitment to The
Intelligent Use of Water™, Preservation
Celebration vividly captures the intimate relationship that exists
between water and life by celebrating India’s
rich heritage of weaving the natural resource into the fabric of its
cultural celebrations.
Preservation Celebration will feature a trio of majestic Bengal
tigers prowling through India’s subtropical
jungle as whimsical monkeys demand attention with their antics.
Spectacular albino peacocks frolic among eight cascading waterfalls and
lagoons in a jungle of exotic flowers, vines and gardens that have
claimed the exotic temple ruins of civilizations past.
In a tradition dating back to Rain Bird’s
first float entry in 1997, water will once again be a signature element
on Preservation Celebration, highlighting the company’s
corporate philosophy of promoting environmental preservation through The
Intelligent Use of Water worldwide. Set amidst a radiant display of lush
flora and life-like fauna, Rain Bird’s 2008
float entry features over 1,500 gallons of flowing recycled water
cascading over eight waterfalls in a brilliant display.
