Seyfarth Shaw LLP, one of America’s leading
full-service law firms, announced the successful move of its Washington,
D.C. office, consisting of 110 employees, including attorneys
and support staff, to its new location, 975
F St., N.W. The office was previously located 815 Connecticut Ave.,
N.W.

Washington, D.C. office. “Our headcount in
Washington has grown by a third since we moved to our former location in
1989. The new office meets our current headcount needs and will
accommodate future growth. Additionally, our new space will help us
better meet the needs of our clients with its state-of-the-art
conference and meeting facilities.”
Seyfarth Shaw’s new space consists of 77,000
square-feet, including three floors of offices with room
for at least 80 lawyers, a second-floor conference center, and a
concourse level for IT operations, file rooms, and supplies. Washington,

Shaw Real Estate partner Robert
Bodansky negotiated the deal on behalf of the firm. The firm has
secured a 13-year lease for the space, plus renewal and expansion
options. Seyfarth
Shaw took over the space from Dewey LeBoeuf, which had a 15-year
lease, but consolidated space in another location after the completion
of that firm’s merger.
The Washington,
D.C. office of Seyfarth Shaw opened in 1971 with two lawyers whose
practice focused on labor and employment law. Since that time, the
office has grown to over
60 lawyers, with practices spanning government
contracts, construction
law and litigation,
labor and employment and employee
benefits. Over the past two years, the office has expanded its
practice mix to include business services (specifically, corporate and
real estate) and commercial litigation.
