Andrew Rasiej is the founder of Personal Democracy Forum, an annual conference and community Web site focusing on and promoting the intersection of politics and technology. The JAM keynote speaker will examine the effective strategies and mastery of new media demonstrated during the 2008 presidential campaign, and discuss similar tactics that can be applied to higher education. As co-founder of an award-winning group blog, techPresident, Rasiej covered the presidential candidates' use of the Web during the 2008 campaign. He also writes a bi-weekly column for www.politico.com and appears on major media channels as an expert on the Internet and politics. He is quoted regularly on this subject by major newspapers internationally.

As a social entrepreneur and founder of Making Opportunities for Upgrading School and Education, known as MOUSE, Rasiej will also share stories and his perspective on educational deficiencies involving technology worldwide. MOUSE trains students in public schools to provide technology support for their schools, teachers, and fellow students. The educational non-profit is active in more than 100 public schools in New York City and has programs based on its student-led tech support model operating in more than 20 countries around the world.

"This year's conference will offer our clients innovative approaches to utilizing Jenzabar solutions and valuable insight into strategies that have been proven effective for institutional success," said Robert A. Maginn, Jr., Jenzabar Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "With JAM following so closely after an historic presidential election, Washington, D.C., is the perfect setting to explore the successful use of new media in modern political campaigning, and to discuss how the latest online communication tools will change the way we engage with students, co-workers, the community, and the higher education industry as a whole."

Jenzabar's Annual Meeting will offer more than 350 sessions to more than 1,100 executives, IT professionals, and end users from client institutions of higher education. The annual conference provides attendees with a place to gather and explore how their institutions are using Jenzabar software solutions to enhance operational effectiveness and increase enrollment, retention, and advancement.
