Rancho Dominguez, CA (PRWEB) June 3, 2009 -- Jennifer Hudson concert tour designer Butch Allen approached Rent What? Inc with a series of drape design concepts and a challenge: "This needs to look amazing, and we need to make this affordable for Jennifer's first US tour."
Silver Satin Stage Drapes from Rent What?
Jennifer Kate Hudson is an American singer, songwriter and actress who came to prominence in 2004 as one of the finalists on the third season of the FOX reality television series American Idol.
Rent What? partners Marce Forrester and Megan Duckett rose to the challenge, seeing this as a fantastic opportuntity to showcase their "tour ready" drape rentals, and the company's eagerness to "customize to suit" concert tour rentals.
"We aim to ultimately please both the tour designer and the artist," stated Megan Duckett. "Our focus is on making it right and making it affordable. We are prepared to go to most any lengths to find that perfect formula." Marce Forrester attributes the company's "extreme service" as being one reason why the startup Drape Rental Company company has taken the tour and event industry by storm.
The dynamic silver satin stage swags designed by Butch Allen were produced by Rent What? Inc and made their stage debut in setting the scene for Jennifer Hudson. "Our concert drape are all designed in Series. Jennifer Hudson's scene is from our Specialty Drape Silver Satin Series. All the various elements; legs, swags, borders and Austrian drapes play together in similar and complimentary colors and textures. "The Specialty Drape Silver Satin Series has so many beautiful pieces," noted Duckett, "but I also find the edgy Industrial Textiles Series to be fascinating fabric treatments."
Designer Butch Allen took the classic drape design even further - with a full bi-parting traveler track carrying a main stage curtain from Rent What? Inc. Despite being a concert, the show opened with a classic curtain reveal - making it all the more elegant. The feeling of traditional theatre was very strong in the concert's stage drape design.
Rent What? Inc is delighted to have been such a key element of this concert's production. "Working with Butch Allen and Peter Morse is always a pleasure. From Butch's artistic renderings we went to work creating fabric art, and then sat back and watched while Peter turned our sewn palette into a Picasso! Their confidence in our stage drapes and rental products, and our interest in customization made this a perfect fit."
Rent What? Inc are best known for their innovative approach to concert tour drapes. Rental contracts offer no cost travel hampers, tour friendly traveler tracks and pre-certified NYC certified draperies. Along with their large inventory of Inherently Flame Retardant stage and masking drapes they recommend an "Optional Damage Waiver" to help productions avoid any potential bill-backs on damages.
