The new company is led by its founder Robert Hougen. Mr. Hougen has over 30 years experience in product marketing, engineering management, electronics design, software design, and manufacturing of specialized rugged computers. He has held the position of vice president of Engineering at the original Percon where he contributed to the revenue growth from $1M to $30M. When the original Percon was acquired by PSC/Datalogic, Mr. Hougen held a variety of positions including Director of Engineering and Director of Product Marketing. Mr. Hougen emphasized that the old Percon has a great history in AIDC. "Percon is a name associated with quality products and excellent service. We are committed to continuing that tradition."

Marketing and sales are managed by its co-founder James "Boony" Budniakiewicz. Mr. Budniakiewicz has over 25 years of marketing and sales experience with several of his own successful start-up companies. He was the president and CEO of IntelliTrack where his management, marketing and sales direction grew the company to a multi-million dollar enterprise. "It is exciting to be part of the Percon rebirth," said Mr. Budniakiewicz. "We are focused on one product line: rugged vehicle computers. We believe that in concentrating on a single product line, we can deliver products that are consistently current in technology at a good price and be able to support our client base more effectively."

"With all the history and personnel of old Percon being associated with the rejuvenated Percon, one would think that we are associated with Datalogic, Inc.," said Mr. Hougen. "However, Percon is a separate manufacturing/engineering company and we are not related to Datalogic, Inc."

Percon is planning its inaugural release of the Phoenix 104E and Phoenix 104 within the next several days. They plan on subsequently releasing two new vehicle computers with varying display sizes, and also incorporating new operating systems. The company is structured to maximize its ability to manufacture according to requested configuration(s). The Percon goal is to "right-size" the VMT to the customers' needs and to provide a rugged vehicle computer with the required features at the right price.
